We manufacture our 18" x 86" sanding belts using high-quality Aluminum Oxide and Zirconia which are ideal for woodworking, metal working & general fabrication. They come in a wide range of grits to compliment all sanding needs from stock removal to fine finishing. These belts are great for use on various types of wood, plastic, carbon fiber and metal surfaces to complement its already wide range of applications. Perfect for use on timesaver machines or other automatic finish sanders. Our belts can be ran bi-directionally.

WHAT ABRASIVE MATERIAL IS RIGHT FOR YOUR 18" x 86" WIDE BELT SANDING APPLICATION?
ALUMINUM OXIDE- Aluminum oxide is one of the most cost effective and versatile wide belt sanding material's there is. You can use it on virtually any surface including wood, aluminum, stainless steel, steel & composites. Our premium cloth backed aluminum oxide belts are made using a blend of polyester and cotton which means these belts can be ran in any wet or dry application. If you are wondering if OPEN COAT or CLOSED COAT is right for your application, we suggest you strongly suggest this question: Are you sanding a very soft wood? 95% of the time we find the answer is NO..in which case you should choose CLOSED COAT. Closed coat has about 25% more grain on the surface than an open coat sanding belt which means you get longer life of your abrasive belt! For ALL metalworking applications you will always choose closed coat as well!
ZIRCONIA - Zirconia sanding belts are a fantastic option for HEAVY stock removal and long life. If you are looking for a coarser sanding belt grit that will do some heavy lifting and do it in a hurry, you would probably be best suited for zirconia which is available in 24 grit, 36 grit, 40 grit, 50 grit, 60 grit, 80 grit, 100 grit & 120 grit. While we don't have all of these grits on our website, you can reach out to us and we can custom make any belt size in that grit for you. While many people think that zirconia can only be used on metals like aluminum or stainless, zirconia is actually very common for woodworking where you want a durable, long lasting belt to quickly remove stock from your surface.
